A wedding was Saturday conducted by a hospital bedside after an accident temporarily immobilised the bride who, nevertheless, would not let the misfortune dampen her day.
Nairobi-based businessman James Mwangi, 26, and 31-year-old computer system administrator Miriam Gakenia, took their vows at the Outspan Hospital grounds in Nyeri where they were offered a venue by the management.
The two love birds, who have dated for one-and-a-half years, were injured in a road accident involving a 14-seater matatu and a lorry on the Nyeri-Nairobi highway on Tuesday evening.
And, as they took their vows, both shed tears of joy with Mr Mwangi taking the opportunity to show his love towards his wife, Miriam, by wiping her tears using his white handkerchief.
Miriam, however, could not stand as she broke her hip bone and left arm.
She took her vows while lying on her bed in the hospital grounds.
Mwangi broke his right arm.
The couple said they could not postpone their wedding since they had planned it for a long time.
“Postponing the wedding would have been a sign of defeat. We just don’t want to give the devil a chance, what we had planned must go on since we are both alive,” Miriam said.
Mr Mwangi said that he loved Miriam so much and nothing short of death would have stopped their wedding.
“We thank God for keeping us alive and fit to carry on with our plans. I want to tell my wife that our honeymoon plans will go on. I am waiting for the day she will be back on her feet,” he said.
Outspan Hospital donated a special room in the hospital which will be the couple’s honeymoon suite.
Clad in a black jacket with blue stripes, white shirt and a navy blue pair of trouser, Mwangi stood beside Miriam who was radiant in a white wedding gown.
The entire hospital was decorated with flowers. It was an unplanned garden wedding.
The dancing bridal party escorted Miriam from her ward to the grounds where she was wheeled for the colourful wedding.
Rev Stephen Mungai of Deliverance Church said: “I was shocked when Mr Mwangi came to me and told me that they would go on with the wedding. But it made sense,” said the Rev Mungai.
There were about 300 guests who munched on bitings afterwards at the ceremony that lasted one-and-a-half hours.
Rev Mungai admitted that this was the first wedding of its kind that he had ever conducted but described it as a great show of love and one that should be emulated by many.
Dr Jeff Muigai, who has been attending to Miriam, however, gave the reassurance that she would walk again after six months.

Police in Mombasa have been allowed to detain for 10 days a man suspected to have raped and murdered a minor in his house in Likoni in order to complete investigations.
The suspect, Mr Manfred Odhiambo, is alleged to have repeatedly raped the 10-year-old girl before he strangled her to death and hid her body under a bed.
Police Inspector Yusuf Ibrahim told a Mombasa court that the girl’s body was found half-naked under the bed with blood stains around the neck and private parts.
“The girl went missing after returning from Bethsaida Primary School on December 15, 2015 and was found dead inside her neighbours house,” Inspector Ibrahim told the court.
Mr Ibrahim told the court that when the girl went missing, the suspect who resides in the same plot with girl’s family, was among the people who escorted them to the Likoni Police Station to report the case.
However, the neighbours became suspicious of him when he started locking his house with different padlocks and blocking friends from entering his house.
It was then that the landlord Mr Nicholas Opiyo requested to search the suspects rental house prompting him to jump over the perimeter wall.
The deceased girl's father and her neighbours chased after him but could not catch him.
However, Mr Odhiambo surrendered himself at the Timbwani Administration Police Post with injuries sustained from broken glass on top of the perimetre wall he jumped over.
Mombasa Principal Magistrate Diana Mochache ordered the suspect to be taken for a medical check up and be detained at the Likoni Police Station until December 28, when the case will be mentioned.
The suspect did not object to the application to enable police complete their investigations but asked for medication and clothes.

Some residents of Nyeri have dismissed a report that ranked their county’s healthcare systems as the best and demanded that the Commission for the Implementation of the Constitution (CIC) orders a fresh survey of health facilities and seek their input.
The residents have termed a report that Nyeri has the best health services as biased and a ‘sick’ one.
Under the Citizen Initiatives group, they said attendance in public hospitals has reduced over time in the county, with most people complaining about lack of many basic facilities and essential drugs.
“Health services are not assumed nor insinuated, they are supposed to be seen and felt,” said the group’s chairman Wambugu Nyamu.
Addressing journalists at West Wood hotel in Nyeri Town, the group, which also comprised grassroots leaders from the county’s six constituencies, said they have been visiting various public hospitals in the county and things are not as rosy as they were said to be in the report.
“We were at the county referral hospital last week where we discovered that of the 10 dialysis machines bought last year, only two are operational.
“Patients to the supposedly best MRI centre are being referred elsewhere, laboratories reagents and chemical are in short supply and essential drug are scarce.
“Whereas we agree the health workers are present, consultation alone does not constitute best health services,” they said in their statement.
The survey, which evaluated operational frameworks of the health facilities in the county, was conducted in collaboration with the Nyeri County government and support from the Danish International Development Agency (Danida).
MEDIA REPORTS
The survey was triggered by frequent media reports on the mistreatment of patients seeking healthcare services in different public health facilities around the county.
The report indicated that Nyeri also has the highest number of doctors and nurses in the country.
The ratio of nurses to the population is 1:654, which is way above the national proportion of 1:2,054, while that of doctors is 1:5,000, which is also higher than the national ratio of 1:25,000.
The report said 80 per cent of respondents said they received all the services recommended by the health workers for their conditions, and only 12 per cent of patients reported that they did not receive services because the service was unavailable (3.7 per cent) or unavailability of some drugs (2.6 per cent).
Absence of staff accounted for 2.6 per cent, lack of equipment 1.8 per cent and lack of referral service 1.3 per cent, according to the report.
However, the report got support from some quotas.
A resident said there is no one who lives more than 25km from a hospital in Nyeri, or more than eight Kilometres from a health centre, or more than five kilometres from a dispensary.
“We have PGH, Karatina, Mukurwe-ini, Othaya, Naromoru, Mweiga, Mathari and Tumutumu. We are blessed as a county.
“Almost 97 per cent of mothers deliver in hospitals while the national average has been 46 per cent. In some places, I think we have more than necessary dispensaries,” commented one Kwai Wanjaria on his Facebook page.

Air France CEO says device on plane was a terror hoax

Air France chief executive Frederic Gagey said Sunday that a bomb threat that prompted one of the airline's planes to make an emergency landing in Kenya had been a "false alarm".
"The object was not capable of causing an explosion," Gagey said of an item made up of cardboard, pieces of paper and a timer that was found in a toilet cubicle on board the plane flying from Mauritius to Paris.
Passengers aboard Air France flight No 463 were Sunday morning forced to cut short their trip after the suspicious drive was discovered in one of the plane’s toilets.
After the discovery, the pilot made an emergency landing at the Moi International Airport, Mombasa.
Bomb experts from the Kenya Navy were called and immediately removed the device to safety outside the airport.
The Boeing 777 plane with 473 passengers on board was diverted to Mombasa at around 3am and immediately cleared to land.
All the 473 passengers were screened at the airport lounge and taken to safety in hotels where they were also receiving care and counselling.
The Kenyan security officials were said to be zeroing in on two passengers who appeared suspicious.
At the same time, bomb experts were conducting a major search inside the plane.
The Mombasa security team and airport security in Mombasa also secured the airport and all critical facilities around.

WHERE IS YOUR DREAMS?

News dear reader of our articles. My point is that you're quite well. But by this time I also wrote articles I am quite good. This is something to thank our God. Today in our series of articles I'd come to the question, "WHERE IS YOUR DREAMS?" As you know, we were all born with a dream / vision to do or have something, but in the long run those dreams disappear slowly. Example, as many of us were quite small cars made by cutting a gallon, we spent slipper tires , if not the cob, others felt not quite being overtaken mend even bicycles trees.Remember  battery ABC? We used to crushed that we may tire! Some are engineers were building, we used the mud to rebuild elegant if not the apartment. There was no failure during those things which we were doing during our childhood. We had a goal to be the best family, to be married. Hahah! Paternal father and mother motherly. All games it was like a prophecy to fulfill our dreams.

We had a dream of being preachers / pastors, teachers, etc. WHERE IS OUR but today DREAM? Let's evaluate what you were doing as a child They have gone where? and why we have failed to establish the? Then take effective action. Perhaps joblessness and hardship You have deleted the dream of owning a car. Or are they telling you if your father died without even a bike you'll have to drive really? Or they tell you that "you can not" and you to despair? Home birth has displaced you your dream to be the best mother of the family? You saw it can no longer get married and decided to engage in prostitution at all.? Living in a rented house and lacking even your own place which you can build your house(land) You have deleted your dream of owning an apartment? Is it your dream TCU were changed when you wanted to be a doctor and teacher planning because you are a child of the farmer? Imagine else. It was to focus on business but see Began business partner you were thinker and despair, and your dreams, culminated there? Learn to Joseph in the Bible.

Despite experiencing many challenges that could extinguish his dream did not give up. He realized that through all these challenges God meant it for good. Read beginning 50:20. Eventually he became prime minister in the land of Egypt. I want to be the greatest obstacle to understanding your dreams is yourself. Strive you take off the barrier. You must fulfil. Do not count when it has failed. Put on power arose again as you can. Dont look back look forward always. Lastly may I remind you these few things which can enable you to fulfil your dream that you can not,
 1. Dont listen to anybody who told you that you can even if your man around.
 2. Set goals
3. Post it fulfill your dream your dreams and take action to fulfill.
 4. Everything you made a priority to God because he is everything. Close with a tell yourself, 'YES. YOU CAN.

SAD STORY OF A PREGNANT WOMAN.

Abi Love's photo.
You made love to your wife last night and left
her the next morning without looking back.
You are in search for the greener pasture. You
left her all alone for 9 months But your wife
got pregnant that night.
And for the next 9 months she was all alone, in
the cold, She first noticed her body changing,
and then the doctor said she is pregnant, the
news gave her joy but with sadness filled her
heart as she was longing to sleep in your arms.
She wants you to be there when your baby
start kicking inside her belly. But all she got
was your voice on the phone.
So many times she cried, she could not
prepare her meals, sometimes she will sleep all
day with body pains as the symptoms took
hold of her. and sometimes she will vomit
through out the night.
She will wake up weak and exhausted
She will force herself to cook but after cooking
she won't feel like eating anymore. All she
needed was you to be by her side, to make her
smile, to rub her belly and listen to her when
she talks about how she is feeling. To take her
out, to walk with her and keep her bed warm.
After going through the pains of post-mother
hood. On that fateful day, at the hospital, in
the labour room, all she could say was your
name. due to the pains, and sadness,
something went wrong, she died with the
baby. You are to be blame.
LESSON: Always take care of your woman
especially when she is pregnant. Care and
protect our pregnant women for they are in
control of the future.
PRAYER: To all pregnant women out there, you
will not die on the day of bountiful joy, she
will live to raise your child in happiness and
good health. IN JESUS Name. Type Amen
